SOR Ministry Program

Cahaya Bangsa means the light of the nation. Our missions to serve and to cultivate a love for Indonesia. One of our desires is to be the light to the community around us, to bless those who are in need, so we can be a witness of Jesus Christ. We want to grow the love and the passion in the student’s heart, so they can show God’s love to the others. As it is mentioned in Matthew 22:39 ESV, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

Before the pandemic, the SOR Ministry Program was integrated into the Overnight Field Trips. However, since it is not possible for us to conduct the Overnight Field Trip due to the pandemic, the school still wants SOR students to participate in a ministry program.

The purpose of the SOR Ministry Program is to impact positively the community and the nation for the glory of God. We treat all people with respect as image-bearers of God. We demonstrate key leadership skills: communication, organization, collaboration, and leading by example. We serve the local community, especially those in need or marginalized.

This program will be conducted between March 1-14. Each class will run it’s own personalized program which will be approved by the administrators and supervised by homeroom teachers. The school has emphasized to arrange the program following the strict health protocol. The program might include collecting money as donation, but please help us to make sure that the money comes from the student’s pocket money instead of asking extra money to the parents.

Program Pelayanan SOR

Misi Cahaya Bangsa adalah untuk melayani dan menanam kasih untuk Indonesia. Salah satu hasrat kami adalah menjadi terang bagi komunitas di sekitar kami, untuk memberkati orang-orang yang membutuhkan, sehingga kami bisa menjadi saksi Kristus. Kami ingin menumbuhkan kasih dan semangat dalam hati murid-murid, sehingga mereka bisa menunjukkan kasih Tuhan kepada orang lain. Seperti yang tertulis dalam Matius 22:39, “Kasihilah sesamamu manusia seperti dirimu sendiri.”

Sebelum adanya pandemi, Program Pelayanan SOR terintegrasi dalam karyawisata. Namun, mengingat kondisi pandemi saat ini sehingga tidak memungkinkan diadakannya karyawisata, sekolah tetap menginginkan agar murid-murid SOR tetap berpartisipasi dalam program pelayanan.

Tujuan dari Program ini adalah untuk memberikan dampak yang positif bagi komunitas dan bangsa untuk kemuliaan Tuhan. Kami memperlakukan semua orang dengan rasa hormat sebagai cerminan Tuhan. Kami menunjukkan kemampuan inti yang diperlukan dalam memimpin: komunikasi, organisasi, kolaborasi dan memimpin dengan memberikan contoh. Kami melayani komunitas lokal, khususnya mereka yang membutuhkan dan terpinggirkan.

Program ini akan diadakan sekitar tanggal 1-14 Maret. Setiap kelas akan menjalankan programnya sendiri dengan persetujuan dari administrator dan diawasi oleh guru wali kelas. Sekolah menekankan protokol kesehatan yang ketat dalam merencanakan program ini. Program ini juga dapat termasuk mengumpulkan uang sebagai donasi, tetapi tolong pastikan bahwa uangnya berasal dari uang saku murid sendiri, dan bukan dari orang tua.
