Seminar - GKGW
CBCS believes in the priority of the family as instituted by God. No other institution is given the high calling of raising and nurturing children. “Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord” (Ephesians 6:4). Our school serves in loco parentis which means that the school and parents work together in training and teaching the children in the way of the Lord. “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6).
Therefore, CBCS provides parenting programs to equip and help all parents to teach, train, and disciple their children. The CBCS parenting programs that we hold are as follow:
- CBCS Parents’ Seminar
CBCS Parents’ Seminar is conducted at least two times a year, a school-wide seminar and a short seminar which is held for each academic program (Early Childhood/ Grammar School/ School Of Logic/School of Rhetoric). The school invites guest speakers that are experienced and competent in parenting. - Growing Kids God’s Way (GKGW) Class
CBCS also holds a parenting class for all parents. This class consists of a small group of parents with 15 meetings every semester. Both the husband and the wife should attend the class once a week to discuss the topics. Each couple receives their course manuals and homework to complete.
The module of this class is taken from “Growing Kids God’s Way” by Gary Ezzo and Anne Marie Ezzo from Growing Families International, USA. It consists of 17 practical lessons that helps lay the groundwork for your parenting skills. The program of GKGW is designed to take parents through the process of building a loving family unit by raising morally responsible children whose hearts are transformed by God’s truth.
